Abe's Rock is a small island located off the coast of Cornwall, England. Situated in the Celtic Sea, it is part of the Isles of Scilly archipelago. The island is named after Abraham Brown, a local fisherman who was believed to have discovered it in the 18th century.

Measuring approximately 1.5 acres in size, Abe's Rock is known for its rugged and rocky terrain. It is composed of granite and has steep cliffs that rise up to 50 feet above sea level. The island's coastline is dotted with caves and crevices, providing a habitat for various marine species, including seals and seabirds.

Access to Abe's Rock is challenging, as there are no regular boat services to the island. However, it is often visited by adventurous tourists and wildlife enthusiasts who are drawn to its untouched natural beauty. Due to its secluded location, the island offers a sense of tranquility and solitude.

Abe's Rock is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), as it supports a diverse range of plant and animal life. Rare species of lichens and mosses can be found clinging to its rocky surfaces, and the surrounding waters are home to a variety of marine flora and fauna.

While the island does not have any permanent human inhabitants, it holds a significant historical and cultural value for the local community. Abe's Rock serves as a reminder of the region's seafaring heritage and the resilience of its people.

Rough sea at Widemouth Bay Climbing to the viewpoint at Lower Longbeak, provided this view of the rocks
looking towards Bude. The wind was running close to a gale, spray rising up and
the waves too messy for surfing, or much else for that matter. Keeping the camera
still proved difficult, keeping oneself still was hard enough. As someone pointed
out, there is nothing to stop the wind between here and New York.
