Phillip's Point is a prominent coastal feature located in Cornwall, England. Situated on the rugged coastline overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it is recognized as a headland and a point due to its distinctive geographical characteristics.

The headland is formed by the erosion of the surrounding cliffs, resulting in a steep and dramatic coastline that juts out into the sea. This creates a natural point that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding coastal landscape.

Phillip's Point is renowned for its rugged beauty and is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike. Visitors can access the point by following a well-marked trail that winds its way along the cliff tops, providing stunning vistas along the way. The area is also home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers.

The point is exposed to the full force of the Atlantic waves, making it a popular spot for surfers looking for challenging breaks. However, caution is advised as the strong currents and rough seas can be dangerous for inexperienced swimmers.

In addition to its natural beauty, Phillip's Point also has historical significance. The remains of an ancient fortification can be found on the headland, serving as a reminder of the area's rich heritage.

Overall, Phillip's Point is a captivating coastal feature that combines stunning natural scenery, recreational opportunities, and historical interest, making it a must-visit location in Cornwall.

Rough sea at Widemouth Bay Climbing to the viewpoint at Lower Longbeak, provided this view of the rocks
looking towards Bude. The wind was running close to a gale, spray rising up and
the waves too messy for surfing, or much else for that matter. Keeping the camera
still proved difficult, keeping oneself still was hard enough. As someone pointed
out, there is nothing to stop the wind between here and New York.
