Wright's Island is a small island located off the coast of Ayrshire, Scotland. Situated in the Firth of Clyde, it covers an area of approximately 0.3 hectares and is only accessible by boat. The island is named after the Wright family, who were the original owners of the land.

The island is characterized by its rugged and rocky terrain, with steep cliffs and a small sandy beach. It is mostly uninhabited, with only a few structures remaining from a previously abandoned settlement. These structures include a dilapidated cottage and a ruined pier.

Despite its small size, Wright's Island is known for its diverse wildlife. The surrounding waters are home to a variety of marine species, including seals and dolphins, while the island itself provides nesting grounds for various seabirds, such as puffins and guillemots. It is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its importance for bird conservation.

The island also holds historical significance, with evidence of human occupation dating back to prehistoric times. Archaeological remains, such as stone tools and pottery fragments, have been discovered on the island, indicating that it was inhabited during the Neolithic and Iron Age periods.

Today, Wright's Island attracts visitors who are interested in exploring its natural beauty and historical artifacts. It offers opportunities for birdwatching, photography, and peaceful walks along its rocky shoreline. However, due to its small size and fragile ecosystem, access to the island is restricted, and visitors are encouraged to follow responsible tourism practices to protect its natural environment.
