Cairn and fence on Broom Fell It's likely that many folk arriving at this cairn will assume that they've reached the summit of Broom Fell - it looks convincing. However, to the south-east there's a rise which is higher. When the photographer first crossed this hill top some decades ago there was almost certainly no trace of a path visiting that higher point; there is a path going to the true summit now but only a thin one.
Skiddaw is the distant mountain.
