Bagstones Wood is a picturesque woodland located in the county of Cheshire, England. Spanning over an area of approximately 40 acres, it forms part of the larger Bagstones Farm and offers a tranquil escape for nature enthusiasts and walkers alike.

The wood is primarily composed of a diverse range of broadleaf trees, including oak, beech, ash, and birch. These towering trees create a dense canopy, providing shade and shelter for the varied flora and fauna that call the woodland home. Bluebells carpet the forest floor in the spring, creating a vibrant and enchanting display.

Visitors to Bagstones Wood can navigate through a network of well-maintained footpaths, which wind their way through the trees and along the banks of a babbling brook. The babbling brook adds to the serene atmosphere of the woodland, and its gentle flow provides a soothing soundtrack to any walk.

The wood is also home to a diverse range of wildlife, making it a haven for nature lovers. Birdwatchers can spot a variety of species, including woodpeckers, tawny owls, and great tits, while lucky visitors may even catch a glimpse of the elusive red fox or the shy roe deer.

Bagstones Wood is easily accessible, with a convenient parking area for visitors. It offers an ideal setting for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or simply a chance to reconnect with nature. Whether in the vibrant colors of spring or the peaceful tranquility of winter, Bagstones Wood is a true gem in the heart of Cheshire's countryside.

Horses he loved and laughter, the sun, with spaces and the open air.
The trust of all dumb living things he won and never knew the luck too good to share.
His were the simple heart and open hand and honest faults he never strove to hide.
Problems of life he could not understand but as a man would wish to die, he died.
Now though he will not ride with us again, his merry spirit seems our comrade yet,
Freed from the power of weariness and pain, forbidding us to mourn or to forget....
