On Rulbutts Hill Rulbutts Hill is an area of bracken, small rock outcrops and scrub. Although rougher than Scout Hill just to the north it is not CRoW access land. There is however a permissive path which runs from the end of the public footpath there, southwards to the footpath leading to Rosthwaite Farm. Viewed from the ferry on a rather dull and damp morning. Storrs Hall is a 4 Star hotel. It is a Grade II* listed Georgian Mansion house, set on the shoreline of Windermere. The hall was built in 1790s by Sir John Legard, and retains many elements of the original architecture. The poets William Wordsworth and Robert Southey were among the early guests. Wordsworth famously recited his poem ‘Daffodils’ in the drawing room.
