Street is a civil parish located in Somerset, England. It is situated in the district of Mendip and lies approximately 2 miles south-west of Glastonbury. The parish covers an area of around 4.5 square miles and has a population of around 11,000 people.

Buildings on Leigh Road, Street

It was the colonnade to the left that interested me in this view (taken from a bus that was stopped in the town centre) but I haven't managed to find out anything about it. The building to the right is the library ST4836 : Library - Leigh Road.

Street - The Bear Inn

Historic hostelry facing Clark's shoe factory. Originally a beer & cider house, it later became a temperance hotel in 1894 and was unlicensed until 1976. The Bear is now in the Marston's portfolio.

Glastonbury - Pons Perilis

Archaic name carved on today's Pomparles Bridge which carries the Glastonbury-Street road over the River Brue. The crossing would have been hazardous for medieval and earlier travellers. A pipe bridge also crosses the river here.
