Grade II listed Caerleon Bridge

Viewed from the north bank of the River Usk. Opened in 1806, Caerleon Bridge carries the B4236 over the river. It was Grade II listed in January 2002.

River Usk footbridge, Caerleon

The 85 metre long footbridge across the River Usk opened in 1968. It is alongside the road bridge, which is too narrow for pavements. It was hazardous for pedestrians to use the road bridge, especially as at that time, before the opening of the A449 in 1972, the bridge was part of the busy trunk route from Newport to Raglan.

The Ship Inn, Caerleon

Church of the Holy Spirit, The Village

This Grade II listed church, which is partially hidden from the road, was built in 1814 as a Chapel for Tabernacle Congregationalists. In 1898 it was taken over by the Anglican Church as a Chapel-of-ease (Holy Spirit) for the parish church of Christchurch. It ceased being used in 2003 and is likely to be converted to residential accommodation.
