The Entrance to Burgess Field, Oxford

Round Hill
This prehistoric barrow extends off to the right of the image, which is centred on the higher, western, part of it. This higher part may not be contemporary with the remainder but might have been formed more recently by scraping material from elsewhere on the mound to create a vantage point from which owners of cattle grazing on the Meadow could inspect them from a distance.
