Sportsman Inn, Embleton One of three pubs in the village, the Sportsman provides comfortable accommodation and an upmarket restaurant, at a price. We stayed here while walking the Inn Way to Northumberland. Just as we were about to order breakfast, the fire alarm went off; we assumed it was a false alarm until the manager arrived wearing only a bath towel and asked us all to leave the hotel. It turned out his shower unit had caught fire. Although he had put the fire out, we had to wait on the terrace until the fire brigade arrived to declare the building safe to re-enter. Recommended nonetheless! In the background is Dunstanburgh Castle (<a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/NU2521">NU2521</a>).
