Pen y Gro is a picturesque coastal marsh and saltings located in Cardiganshire, Wales. It covers an area of approximately XX square kilometers and is characterized by its unique ecosystem and stunning natural beauty.

The marshland is situated near the estuary of the River Teifi, where fresh and saltwater mix, creating an ideal habitat for a diverse range of plant and animal species. The area is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its scientific importance and conservation value.

Pen y Gro is renowned for its vast saltmarshes, which are dominated by salt-tolerant plants such as samphire, sea lavender, and cordgrass. These plants provide vital habitats for numerous bird species, including herons, curlews, and sandpipers. During the breeding season, the marshes become a haven for many nesting birds.

The area is also home to a variety of insects, reptiles, and small mammals. Saltwater creeks and channels intersect the marshland, creating a complex network of habitats that support a rich marine life, including fish, crabs, and mollusks.

Pen y Gro is not only important for its ecological significance but also for its scenic beauty. The marshes offer stunning panoramic views of the coastline, with rolling dunes and sandy beaches stretching into the distance. It is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and photographers who come to admire the area's unspoiled landscapes.
