Great Hill is a prominent geological formation located in Cornwall, England. Rising to a height of approximately 395 meters (1,296 feet), it is classified as a hill rather than a mountain due to its relatively low elevation. Situated within the eastern part of Cornwall, Great Hill is part of the larger Bodmin Moor region, known for its rugged landscape and ancient history.

Great Hill is renowned for its distinctive shape, featuring a rounded summit that offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The hill is composed mainly of granite, a characteristic rock type found throughout the region. Its geological composition gives rise to the presence of tors, large weathered granite outcrops that dot the hill's landscape.

The area surrounding Great Hill is rich in archaeological sites, with evidence of human activity dating back thousands of years. Neolithic stone circles, Bronze Age burial mounds, and Iron Age hillforts can be found in the vicinity, attesting to the long history of human habitation in the area.

The hill is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, walking, and wildlife observation. Several trails lead visitors to the summit, where they can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding moorland, valleys, and distant tors.

Great Hill's location within the Bodmin Moor Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ensures its preservation and protection as a valuable natural and cultural asset.

Lower Town Quay The smaller of the two quays on St Martin’s. The larger quay at Higher Town is the one used for freight deliveries, but is inaccessible at a low tide.

The island behind is the uninhabited Tean (pronounced tea-an).
