Sandon Half Tide Dock is a freshwater marsh located in Lancashire, England. Situated near the town of Preston, it is a prominent feature of the local landscape and attracts visitors from both nearby areas and further afield.

Covering an area of approximately 50 acres, Sandon Half Tide Dock is a haven for wildlife, with its diverse ecosystem supporting a wide variety of plant and animal species. The site is characterized by its marshland habitat, which includes a combination of open water, reed beds, and wetland vegetation.

The dock is fed by a freshwater stream that flows into the area, providing a constant supply of water and nutrients. This, in turn, sustains the rich biodiversity found within the marsh. Visitors to the site can witness an array of bird species, including wading birds, ducks, and geese, as well as mammals such as otters and water voles.

Sandon Half Tide Dock also serves as an important breeding ground for many species of fish, with the freshwater environment providing an ideal setting for their reproduction. Anglers frequent the dock to try their luck at catching fish such as pike, perch, and roach.

The site is well-maintained, with footpaths and observation points allowing visitors to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. It is an ideal destination for both nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat in a picturesque setting.
