Not quite the end of the line... Old diesel locomotives dating from the late 1950s lined up at Barrow Hill. The Direct Rail Services Class 37 appears to be still active. The 45, 40, 24 and 07s look less serviceable.

Outside the oldest part of Netherthorpe School The school was founded in 1572. Now a modern "academy", it has witnessed great changes in the world of education. It's current motto is "Learn. Enjoy. Succeed". It serves over a thousand children from the Staveley area but my photograph shows just one of them.
