Buckingham Old Gaol

Buckingham Old Gaol was built in 1748 and became a gaol in 1839 when cells and a gaoler's house were added. More recently it has been a police station, a fire station, an air-raid shelter and an ammunition store. Today it houses a volunteer-run museum and incorporates a tourist information office. The building is said to be haunted.

Barton's Hospital, Church Street

The stone tablet above the door says that the hospital was founded in 1431 by John Barton and rebuilt in 1910.
