Chadderton is a town located in the metropolitan borough of Oldham, within the county of Lancashire in England. It lies approximately six miles northeast of Manchester city center and is situated on the eastern bank of the River Irk.

With a population of around 34,000, Chadderton is one of the largest towns in Oldham. Its history can be traced back to the medieval period, and it was once known for its textile industry, particularly cotton manufacturing. Royd Mill, Chamber Road, Hollinwood

This mill was built in 1907 and has now been demolished with housing built on the site. This shows the engine house that once held a J & E Wood of Bolton inverted vertical triple expansion steam engine. That was scrapped long ago but a small steam fire pump survived and is now at the Astley Green Mining Museum site. This was a fine Edwardian era mill and really deserved listing, especially as the chimney survived intact with its oversailing cap.

Cutting Edge Barber

Opening shortly according to the notice. The building on the corner of Campania Street and Oldham Road looks as if it was originally a chapel. Streetview imagery shows it was Ananda's Bridal Company in 2008. In 2012 it was "Mobile and Computer World" which by 2017 had morphed into "Dream PC". By 2018 it was boarded up. Mid 2019-2020 it was "Rawsome Pets". 2021 sees it all shuttered up.
