Allt Ganol is a picturesque woodland located in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Covering an area of approximately 100 hectares, this ancient forest is a haven for nature enthusiasts and offers a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The woodland is primarily composed of native broadleaf trees, such as oak, beech, and ash, which create a stunning canopy that filters sunlight and casts dappled shadows on the forest floor. The diverse range of flora and fauna found within Allt Ganol is a testament to its ecological importance.

The forest is crisscrossed with a network of well-maintained footpaths and trails, allowing visitors to explore the natural beauty at their own pace. As they wander through the enchanting woodland, visitors may encounter an array of wildlife, including deer, squirrels, and a variety of bird species.

Allt Ganol is not only a place of natural beauty but also holds historical significance. The forest is believed to have been used in the past for charcoal production, and remnants of old kilns can still be found scattered throughout the area. These kilns were once used to convert wood into charcoal, an essential fuel source for iron production during the industrial revolution.

Today, Allt Ganol is managed by the local conservation authority, ensuring the preservation of its unique ecosystem and cultural heritage. Whether seeking a peaceful walk, a chance to reconnect with nature, or an opportunity to learn about the region's past, Allt Ganol offers a truly immersive and rewarding experience for visitors of all ages.
