Talybont reservoir wall Talybont reservoir is huge and this is a sturdy wall to hold back the pressure. Even though it hasn't rained in a while the white strip on the wall shows that the water level is still not too far below maximum. This reservoir yields 15 million gallons per day and feeds into the usk river - as do the Usk and Cray reservoirs. The people of Newport must all have swimming pools !

Cui Bridge kissing gate This footpath leaves the road at Cui bridge and crosses farmland. The bridge itself is new in construction having replaced an earlier bridge. The signpost is in fact an interpretation panel, one of many, highlighting some of the work of a local poet Henry Vaughan-
Come then, my God!
Shine on this blood,
And water in one beam,
and thou shalt see,
Kindled by thee,
both liquors burn, and stream.
