This former pub has been converted to an Islamic community and education centre. The fact that the building is Listed Grade II has restricted the application of exterior signage. Built 1936-7, architect A E Eberlin of Nottingham, for Warwick & Richardson, brewers of Newark.

Ford on the new course, allowing vehicle access to the old course for maintenance purposes. The notice states that the public are not allowed to use the ford! The construction of the ford is unusual, being created from coarse stones allowing the water to percolate through.
