This is the view NE along the platform to the end of the lines, just under the road bridge. The railway used to cross the river and continue towards Abergwili and northwards. Part of the line in the Gwili valley has now been restored and is a tourist attraction.

Dyfed-Powys Police HQ, Llangunnor, Carmarthen

The building with the white garage doors on the far right has a heli-pad in front of it. Dyfed-Powys is quite a large area. The Police and Fire Brigade still recognise Dyfed as an administrative area, despite it having been broken up into Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

Within the last few days (as at 21/6/06), this striking new footbridge has been opened over the River Towy linking Carmarthen Station with the town at the bottom of Blue Street.

Here be dragons

A dragon raft "manned" by six skirt-wearing rugby-topped scarecrows has been moored in the river for a few days. Presumably this is to advertise the forthcoming raft race that ends under the new footbridge SN4119 : New footbridge at Carmarthen just a little downstream.
