Lytham Hall is a historic country house located in Lytham, Lancashire, England. It is a Grade I listed building and is considered one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in the country. The house was designed by architect John Carr and was built between 1757 and 1764 for Thomas Clifton, a wealthy landowner.

The hall is set within a 78-acre estate, which includes beautifully landscaped gardens, woodlands, and a deer park. The gardens were designed by renowned landscape architect Thomas Mawson in the early 20th century. Visitors can explore the extensive grounds, which feature a lake, a walled garden, and a range of rare and exotic trees.

Inside the house, visitors can discover the rich history and grandeur of the Clifton family, who lived in Lytham Hall for over 350 years. The rooms are beautifully preserved and showcase the opulence of the Georgian era, with original features such as ornate plasterwork, intricate woodwork, and elegant furnishings.

Lytham Hall is not just a historic house; it also serves as a cultural hub for the community. The hall hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including art exhibitions, live music performances, and outdoor theater productions. There is also a tearoom on-site, where visitors can enjoy refreshments in a charming setting.

The hall is open to the public, and guided tours are available, providing a fascinating insight into the history and heritage of this magnificent building. Lytham Hall is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and nature lovers alike.

Watching the trains go by In the course of taking a few snaps from a train on the way to Blackpool, I happened to catch this lad sitting on a fence at a pedestrian crossing of the railway. Scenes like this are timeless (apart from changing fashions).
