Sgeir an Fhigheddair is a small uninhabited island located off the coast of Argyllshire, Scotland. Situated in the Inner Hebrides, this island is part of a group of islands known as the Garvellachs. It is approximately 1.5 miles northeast of the Isle of Scarba and 6 miles west of the Isle of Jura.

The island is composed mainly of rugged cliffs and rocky terrain, with no vegetation or trees present. Its name, Sgeir an Fhigheddair, translates to "The Fisher's Skerry" in English, which suggests its historical use as a fishing ground.

The island is a popular destination for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts due to its rich avian population. Various seabird species, including guillemots, razorbills, and kittiwakes, can be observed nesting on the cliffs. Additionally, seals and otters are often spotted around the island's shores.

Sgeir an Fhigheddair has a significant historical and cultural importance. Ruins of an ancient monastery, believed to have been founded by St. Brendan in the 6th century, can be found on the island. These ruins, along with a nearby graveyard, are remnants of a once-thriving religious community. The site attracts historians and archaeologists who study the early Christian heritage of the region.

Access to Sgeir an Fhigheddair is limited, as it is only accessible by boat. Visitors should be mindful of the weather conditions and tidal patterns when planning a trip to the island.
