Eilean Mhic Neill, also known as Neal Island, is a small island situated off the west coast of Scotland in Argyllshire. It is located in the Sound of Mull, approximately 1.5 kilometers northwest of the mainland. The island spans an area of around 40 hectares and has a rugged, rocky terrain.

Eilean Mhic Neill is characterized by its stunning natural beauty and tranquil surroundings. The island is covered in a mix of grasslands, heather, and scattered trees, providing a habitat for a variety of bird species including seabirds such as gulls and cormorants.

The island is uninhabited and has no permanent structures or facilities. It is primarily used for grazing livestock during the summer months. The surrounding waters of the Sound of Mull offer excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and wildlife spotting.

Eilean Mhic Neill is also of historical significance. Ruins of an ancient chapel dedicated to St. Cormac can be found on the island, dating back to the 15th century. The chapel was a place of worship for the local population and served as a burial ground. Today, visitors can explore the ruins and gain insight into the island's rich history.
