Oli Geo is a prominent coastal feature located in the Shetland Islands, which are part of Scotland. It is specifically classified as a headland, also known as a point, due to its unique geological formation and prominent position along the coastline.

Situated on the eastern coast of the mainland Shetland, Oli Geo is characterized by its steep cliffs and rugged terrain. It stretches out into the North Sea, providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The headland is formed by the erosion of the surrounding rock formations over thousands of years by the relentless force of the sea. This has resulted in the creation of a distinct promontory that juts out into the ocean, offering a striking visual spectacle.

Oli Geo is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers due to its dramatic and picturesque scenery. The headland's cliffs are home to various seabird colonies, including puffins, guillemots, and fulmars, making it a haven for birdwatchers. Additionally, the headland offers opportunities for coastal walks and hikes, allowing visitors to explore the rugged coastline and take in the panoramic views of the sea and surrounding landscape.

The area surrounding Oli Geo is also rich in history and cultural heritage. Ancient archaeological sites, such as the remains of Iron Age settlements and Viking ruins, can be found in the vicinity, adding an additional layer of fascination to the headland's allure.

Overall, Oli Geo in Shetland is a captivating coastal feature, with its stunning cliffs, abundant wildlife, and historical significance, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

Belmont, Unst This was taken from the Gutcher-Belmont ferry as we come into port at Belmont, Unst, Shetland. We are on the Wick of Belmont and this is Belmont House, a category A-listed Georgian country house which was built in 1775 by Shetland landowner Thomas Mouat of Garth. Restored to its former glory between 1996 and 2010, it is now a private residence though it has been let out occasionally as a venue for cultural events and B&B accommodation.
