Malcolm's Ship is a historic shipwreck located on the coast of Shetland, an archipelago in Scotland. The ship, also known as Malcolm's Firth, is situated near the village of Bixter on the west side of the mainland island of Shetland.

Believed to have sunk around 400 years ago, Malcolm's Ship is a popular site for divers and maritime enthusiasts due to its remarkable state of preservation. The wreck lies in shallow water, allowing for easy exploration. It rests on a sandy seabed and is partially buried, with only the upper sections of the ship visible.

The ship is estimated to have been a merchant vessel, possibly a Dutch or German trading ship, as evidenced by its construction style and cargo remains. It is approximately 30 meters long and consists of a wooden hull, now covered in marine growth. The ship's structure reveals distinct features, including a well-preserved keel, frames, and planking.

Over the years, numerous artifacts have been recovered from Malcolm's Ship, including pottery shards, cannons, and personal items. These findings provide valuable insights into the maritime trade and daily life of the period in which the ship sailed.

Malcolm's Ship serves as a significant archaeological site, shedding light on Shetland's rich maritime history and its connections to international trade networks. It offers a unique opportunity to explore and learn about the past, attracting visitors and researchers interested in maritime archaeology and heritage.

MV Costa Fortuna at anchor in Bressay Sound The size of the MV Costa Fortuna (464 cabins, nine swimming pools and five restaurants) meant that it was obliged to anchor out in the Sound rather than at the quayside in Lerwick. A flotilla of barges were kept busy ferrying passengers to and from the Victoria Pier. The Costa Fortuna is a sister ship to the ill-starred Costa Concordia which sank off the Italian coast in 2012.
