Geile Sgeir is a small uninhabited island located off the coast of Ross-shire in the Highlands of Scotland. It is situated approximately 1.5 miles north of Gairloch and lies within Loch Gairloch.

The island is known for its rugged and rocky terrain, with steep cliffs and jagged edges. It has a total area of about 2.5 hectares and rises to a height of around 20 meters above sea level. Geile Sgeir is composed mainly of Lewisian gneiss, a type of metamorphic rock that is commonly found in the region.

Due to its remote location and challenging access, the island is rarely visited by humans. However, it serves as an important breeding site for various seabird species, including guillemots, razorbills, and puffins. These birds are attracted to the cliffs and ledges that provide suitable nesting sites.

Geile Sgeir also possesses rich marine life, with seals being a common sight in the surrounding waters. The island's location within Loch Gairloch offers beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the nearby Torridon Mountains.

Overall, Geile Sgeir is a picturesque and ecologically significant island that provides a valuable habitat for seabirds and marine wildlife. Its untouched natural beauty and isolation make it an attractive destination for nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers.
