Samson is a small uninhabited island located off the coast of Cornwall, England. It is part of the Isles of Scilly archipelago, which is situated in the Atlantic Ocean. Samson is the largest of the uninhabited islands in the Scilly Isles, covering an area of approximately 38 hectares.

The island is characterized by its rugged and wild landscape, with rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and grassy fields. It is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including rare plant species and seabird colonies. The absence of human inhabitants has allowed the island's ecosystem to flourish undisturbed.

Historically, Samson was once inhabited by a small community, with evidence of human presence dating back thousands of years. However, the last permanent residents left the island in the mid-19th century, and since then, it has remained uninhabited.

Today, Samson is primarily a nature reserve, protected for its ecological importance. It is managed by the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust, which works to preserve the island's natural habitats and wildlife. Visitors to Samson can enjoy hiking along the island's trails, exploring its diverse landscapes, and observing the unique wildlife that calls it home.

While there are no facilities or services available on the island, day trips to Samson can be arranged from nearby islands in the Scilly Isles. It offers a tranquil escape for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a remote and unspoiled natural environment.
