Fields, Afon Ganol The road to Bryn Pydew climbs steeply away from Cystennin Road and the low-lying fields by the Afon Ganol which can be seen winding towards the bridge for Dinarth Hall. Ironically the Afon Ganol now flows to Glan Conwy SH8076, the exact reverse of the flow of the Afon Conwy which came through the Mochdre gap in late-glacial times when its route to the sea was blocked by ice.

The Hall, Gloddaeth Hall Some Mostyn family portraits still hang over the old dining table. What a credit to generations of children for whom this has been their school that they remain in such good condition!

Capel Ainon The Baptists' chapel in Glanwydden is a fine little building, so gracious and retiring that it is easy to miss it entirely when passing. The plaque on the gable reads: "AINON - ADDOLDY Y BEDYDDWYR GLANWYDDEN, CORFFORWYD 1789". My translation is "AINON - Baptists' place of worship, incorporated 1789".

Apparently there is an inscribed OS bench-mark on the structure, but I did not observe that.
