Crowlin Islands is a small island group located off the west coast of Ross-shire, Scotland. It consists of three main islands: Eilean Crowlin, Eilean Dubh, and Eilean Sùbhainn. These islands are situated in the Inner Sound, between the Isle of Skye and the mainland.

Eilean Crowlin is the largest island in the group, covering an area of approximately 130 acres. It is characterized by its rugged and rocky coastline, with cliffs rising up to 100 feet in some places. Small cave There are a few small caves on this side of the island, just around from this one is a sheep-fank built into a cave. These caves are small, dry and safe.

Crowlin Harbour This fine natural harbour is well sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds. Those dark specks are not dirt in the camera - a couple of dozen seals came to see what I was doing there!

Crowlin Isles from above Culduie From this vantage point, it's possible to see what is less apparent on the islands themselves - that the islands share the bedrock with the mainland, the sandstone strata dipping consistently with those near Toscaig in the foreground. The Caolas Mor is simply a glaciated valley that happens to be below sea level and thus divides the islands from the mainland. In the background is Skye (geologically distinct from this area) and a handful of other islands of the Inner Sound.
