Toy's Hill Wood is a renowned woodland located in the county of Kent, England. Covering an extensive area of approximately 200 acres, it is one of the largest surviving areas of ancient woodland in the region. The wood is part of the wider High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is managed by the National Trust.

The wood is characterized by its diverse and rich ecological features. It is predominantly composed of mixed broadleaf trees, including oak, beech, and sweet chestnut, which form a dense canopy. Underneath, a lush undergrowth of ferns, bluebells, and wildflowers thrives, creating a vibrant and colorful landscape during the spring and summer months.

Toy's Hill Wood offers a range of recreational activities for visitors. A network of well-maintained footpaths and trails crisscross through the woodland, allowing walkers and hikers to explore its natural beauty. These trails offer stunning viewpoints over the Weald and the surrounding countryside, making it a popular spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers.

The wood has a rich cultural and historical significance as well. It was previously owned by the Beale family, who were avid supporters of the conservation movement in the early 20th century. Octavia Hill, one of the founders of the National Trust, was closely associated with the wood and worked to protect it from development. Today, the wood stands as a testament to their efforts and is cherished as a valuable natural and cultural heritage site.

Toy's Hill Wood, with its picturesque landscapes, diverse flora, and historical significance, continues to be a beloved destination for visitors seeking a tranquil retreat in the heart of Kent.

Cooper’s Corner: postbox № TN14 209 This Victorian postbox is set into a pillar-like addition projecting from the frontage of a building which I think was once a pub: there is a 'PH' marked here on some large-scale maps and the Royal Mail's listing names this postbox as Frog & Bucket so I am assuming that is what the pub was called.
