The Emscote Old Wharf development appears complete outwardly. This was a glimpse of the site in 2016 SP2965 : Narrowboats between bridges 46 and 47, Grand Union Canal, Warwick. The thatch on the roofs of the café and the toilets, right, is being relaid. Both facilities remain open. The little stream is something of a mystery. It is probably surface water from the car park or possibly from St John's flats in the background. Photo number 7765252.

Footpaths by Rock Mill Lane, Milverton

The paths are seen looking north from the Portobello Bridge that takes Emscote Road over the River Avon, which runs among the trees on the left hand side of the picture. In the distance, to the right, can be seen the new bridge that carries Sir Anthony Eden Way over the river and, behind it, the 18th century Rock Mill building, now converted to housing.

The car park, operated by Chiltern Railways, has extended west as land became available, in particular the site of a builders' merchant. The far end looks like a quiet corner for off-duty rail replacement buses.

De Normanville Avenue, behind the camera, meets the south end of the extended Station Approach. Above the front door of the house ahead is an old street nameplate: 'St James' Park NE1' – the Newcastle connection. The length of De Normanville Avenue to this point is about 200 metres. Here it turns left then right and continues for another 300 metres or so.
