It consists of a large granite ashlar obelisk with stepped top, on a pedestal with an inscription panel on the front <a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2590337">SP2382 : Inscription on the Cyclists' war memorial </a>. The memorial was erected to commemorate cyclists killed in the First World War, and a bronze plaque was added in 1963 to the side of the pedestal in memory of cyclists killed in the Second World War <a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2645147">SP2382 : World War II plaque, Cyclists' War Memorial </a>.
