Cockspur Coppice is a picturesque woodland located in Worcestershire, England. Covering an area of approximately 100 acres, it is a prime example of a traditional British coppice woodland. The forest is situated near the village of Cockspur, hence its name.

The coppice is predominantly made up of broadleaf trees, including oak, ash, and birch. These trees are carefully managed through a traditional method known as coppicing, where the trees are cut back to ground level, allowing them to regrow and provide a sustainable source of timber. This practice has been carried out in Cockspur Coppice for centuries, contributing to its rich biodiversity and providing a habitat for a variety of wildlife.

Walking through the woodland, visitors are treated to a tranquil and serene environment. The forest floor is carpeted with a diverse range of flora, including bluebells, primroses, and wild garlic, creating a vibrant and colorful display during springtime.

Cockspur Coppice is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and photographers. Several well-maintained footpaths wind their way through the woodland, offering visitors the opportunity to explore and discover its natural beauty. The forest is also home to a network of streams and small ponds, adding to its charm and providing a habitat for amphibians and water-loving creatures.

Managed by a local conservation group, Cockspur Coppice is not only a place of natural beauty but also an important site for ecological preservation. Through careful management and conservation efforts, the woodland continues to thrive, providing an invaluable resource for both humans and wildlife alike.
