Frozen lochan in Ruttle Wood A track runs down the hill from Fanellan, past this lochan/pond, then towards the Eilean Aigas driveway. A few parts of the track were covered with ice today.
This lochan isn't marked on the OS 1:50,000 or 1:25,000 maps. Maybe it has been created fairly recently.

Aigas Power Station Plenty of water in the river today, it is pouring down the spillway, and spraying up a fair bit.
The power station is on the River Beauly, and is part of the Affric-Beauly hydro-electric scheme, along with Kilmorack Power Station a short distance downstream.

Teanassie Primary School Teanassie Primary School is a small school, for pupils from the rural areas around Kilmorack and Struy. The main school building dates from 1877, plus there are several demountable units in use.

The name Teanassie may be from the Gaelic for "house of the drover's stance" (taigh an fhasaidh) or possibly "house of the waterfall" (taigh an easa).

Minor track through Ruttle Wood It looks like this forest track isn't used much. It is rather overgrown and muddy in places, and here it is obstructed by a fallen tree.

This part of the woods has a mixture of trees - it looks like pine on the left, and birch down the slope to the right.
