The MacLean Stone This cairn marks the spot where the 14th chief of Clan Maclean, Lachlan Mor, was killed following the battle of Traigh Gruinart in 1598.  This was the last big clan battle on Islay and arose from a protracted dispute between the MacLeans and the MacDonalds over possession of the Rinns ("Na Roinn").
