Battle of Britain Memorial, near Burwash

The High Weald was one of the main scenes of the Battle of Britain in 1940. This excellently maintained memorial is on a footpath near Holton Farm. It commemorates a Flight Lieutenant R. F. Rimmer who died on 27th September 1940, aged just 21.
