Allerton is a small village located in the county of Lancashire, England. Situated about 4 miles to the east of the city of Liverpool, it falls within the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley. The village is set in a rural area, surrounded by green fields and farmland.

Allerton: Lodge to the former Allerton Tower The Lodge dates from 1847 and it and its accompanying entrance gate piers are Grade II Listed.

The Allerton Tower estate was acquired by Liverpool Corporation in 1924, opening as a park three years later. However, by 1937 the Tower had become seriously affected by dry rot and was demolished.

Calderstones: Calderstone Mansion in Calderstones Park Calderstone Mansion was built in 1828 and is Grade II Listed.

Having been closed to the public since the early 1970s, the Mansion House was beginning to decay when The Reader won a public tender for its lease and began to raise funds for a restoration.

The Reader is a national charity whose aim is to enable everyone to experience and enjoy great literature. Through a growing movement of 1,000 volunteers and partners, The Reader brings thousands of people together each week to share and discuss great novels, short stories and poems, in a programme called Shared Reading.

Woolton: The Roman Catholic Archbishop's House Old large scale Ordnance Survey maps show this house as Beechwood, and it was only in the edition of 1936 that it was shown as the Archbishop's House. By 1952 it had a private Roman Catholic Chapel in its grounds. The house is now in Acrefield Park, with the current housing estate built in the house's grounds.

It is a Grade II Listed Building.

Camp Hill: The Sunken Garden When the City of Liverpool acquired the Woolton Woods and Camp Hill sites in the 1920s, the Dutch Garden of Meditation was created here in 1928. The pool and garden ornaments in that garden have long since disappeared and the area is now known as the Sunken Garden.

When the City of Liverpool acquired the Woolton Woods and Camp Hill sites in the 1920s, the Dutch Garden of Meditation was created here in 1928.
