Old milestone This sandstone milestone on the A638 road near the entrance to the church in Thrybergh is from the Tinsley and Doncaster turnpike. It doesn't look much different in 2024 from the previous photo <a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6056145">SK4695 : Old Milestone by the A630, Doncaster Road, Thrybergh</a>  actually taken in 2014. Once set with this face to the wall the two 'front' faces may have had mileages to Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. The missing plate may have said DONR/9/ROTHM/3/SHEFFD/9.
