Hopwell is a civil parish located in the southern part of Derbyshire, England. It covers an area of approximately 2.5 square miles and is situated about 8 miles southeast of Derby, the county town. The parish is bordered by the River Trent to the east, which forms the boundary with Nottinghamshire.
