The North Cheshire Way passes just to the west of Budworth Mere SJ6576 and then crosses these fields before reaching the Marbury Road. Beyond the woods on the left lies Marbury Country Park.

Marbury Country Park - lime avenue

Anderton with Marbury: Lime avenue in Marbury Country Park. Marbury Hall was pulled down in 1968 after years of dereliction. It had served in turn as family home, German PoW camp, Polish DP camp and post-war austerity housing for ICI workers. The lime avenue (planted in the 1840s) - and the ghost of an Egyptian beauty - are among the few survivors of the glory days of the Victorian era.
