Castle Bytham is a civil parish located in the county of Lincolnshire, England. Situated near the border with Rutland, the parish is nestled in the beautiful countryside of the South Kesteven district. The village of Castle Bytham is the main settlement within the parish.

The history of Castle Bytham dates back to the medieval era when a castle, known as Bytham Castle, was constructed. Unfortunately, very little remains of the castle today, with only a few earthwork remains visible. However, its historical significance is still evident in the name of the village. The parish also boasts a Grade I listed church, St. James' Church, which dates back to the 12th century and showcases stunning architectural features.

The village itself retains much of its rural charm, with a mix of traditional stone-built houses and newer developments. It is home to a close-knit community that enjoys a peaceful and picturesque setting. The surrounding countryside offers ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, and horse riding, with scenic trails and bridleways to explore.

Castle Bytham is also known for its annual Midsummer Fair, a traditional event that has been held for over 700 years. The fair attracts visitors from near and far, featuring a range of attractions including fairground rides, live music, and local produce stalls.

Overall, Castle Bytham is a quaint and historic parish that offers a tranquil and idyllic lifestyle for its residents, while also providing a glimpse into the rich heritage of the area.
