Redditch 2nd railway station (site), Worcestershire Opened in 1868 by the Midland Railway on what became its line from Birmingham to Gloucester via Alcester, this station replaced an earlier Redditch station off Clive Road. Passenger services south of here ceased in 1962, so in turn, this 2nd station closed in 1972 when it was replaced by the current station some 200m behind the camera position (see SP0367 : Redditch railway station, Worcestershire).

View south towards Studley & Astwood Bank, and Alcester. The camera is located on the former trackbed between the two parallel platforms, with the main station building having been immediately to the left. Truncating the line by 200m allowed space for the building of a new bus station and shopping centre to the left.
