Alwoodley Old Hall is a historic building located in Alwoodley, a suburb of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. This Grade I listed heritage site is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Leeds, dating back to the 17th century.

The hall is constructed of local gritstone and features a symmetrical façade with mullioned windows and a central porch. The building's architecture reflects the Jacobean style with its characteristic gables and ornamental detailing.

Originally, Alwoodley Old Hall was a manor house and the ancestral seat of the Gascoigne family. It was later converted into a farmhouse in the 18th century after the family moved to nearby Parlington Hall. The hall remained a working farm until the mid-20th century.

Today, the building stands as a testament to the region's architectural heritage. It is surrounded by well-preserved gardens and a moat, which was likely used for defensive purposes during its early years. The interior of the hall features oak paneling, fireplaces, and stone-flagged floors, providing a glimpse into the lifestyle of the past.

Alwoodley Old Hall is not open to the public due to its private ownership. However, it remains a significant landmark in the area and is admired by visitors for its historical and architectural value. The hall's picturesque setting and its rich history contribute to its appeal as a heritage site and symbol of Yorkshire's past.

Path near the end of an inlet, Eccup Reservoir This runs into a small valley by Wigton Knowle, and I was expecting to a see a stream running into the reservoir, but didn't. It's probably been diverted to avoid undesirable stuff getting into the water supply.
