Sadly Sellon died in 1876. Departing this month were: 1st July 2023, Bob Kerslake, head of the civil service from 2012 to 2014; 16th, Jane Birkin, one half of that controversial song, later an actress; 21st, Ann Clywd, Wales' first female MP, and veteran crooner, Tony Bennett; 24th, BBC journalist George Alagiah and Trevor Francis, England’s first £ million footballer; 26th, Irish singer/ songwriter Sinéad O'Connor; and 28th, The Eagles original bassist Randy Meisner.

Just off Harvest Ride there is a small area of damp woodland, a remnant of what was here before the whole place was built over. There is a footpath through the middle of it.

The hollow where these flowers grow must be damper than the rest of the park. Lily Hill Park is maintained by Bracknell Forest Borough Council, with wildlife in mind, and is very pleasant to walk in.
