Limestone pinnacle, Heaste Karst scenery is rare in Scotland. There is a band of limestone in the northwest and this passes through the eastern part of Skye. Easily recognisable by the contrast between the greener vegetation on the limestone and the usual acid bog. This pinnacle is a landmark on the moorland road into Heaste from Broadford.

Television aerial, Heaste It's not easy getting television or radio in the Highlands. I often fail to make out a weather forecast amongst the static on a transistor radio. It can be easier listening to Radio Scotland in Wolverhampton than in Kintail. Often the TV aerials are situated high on hillsides to catch a glimpse of the signal. Satellite dishes are a common sight. Beinn nan Carn (<a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/gridref/NT6318">NT6318</a>) in the distance.
