The approach to Edzell from the south A straight road through woodland brings one to the Dalhousie Memorial Arch which spans the road at the entrance to the village. The arch dates from 1887/8 and promises a degree of interest and excitement beyond. Edzell is a pleasant enough village with cafes, pub, a few shops etc, and a nice open parkland at the far end, but maybe not too exciting.
