Winchester Cathedral - South Aisle

Looking eastwards (actually ESE) along the south aisle of Winchester cathedral from the eastern end of the nave with the south transept leading off to the right just ahead and with the steps that lead up to the aisle's continuation alongside the presbytery. The blind semi-circular arches seen ahead above the tall thin arch are typical of Romanesque (Norman) architecture. This is the oldest part of the cathedral dating from the C12th.
