Situated on the eastern coast of England, Feldy Marshes is characterized by its unique ecosystem of marshes, salt marshes, and saltings. These habitats are formed by the interaction of the river, sea, and land, resulting in a rich and fertile environment for various species to thrive.

The marshes are home to an array of wildlife, attracting birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts from far and wide. Visitors can spot a wide variety of avian species, including wading birds, ducks, geese, and even rare migratory birds. The Captain's Table Inside the Company Shed is a fish restaurant. It only sells "Fruits of the Sea" you have to supply your own carbohydrate (however only bread is allowed!) the quality of the fayre is such that punters queue up for a table. Also with no licence you can bring your own wines, the shop just across the road does a fair trade in Mersea Wine from TM0313 : Mersea Island Vineyard
