The Baltasound Bus Shelter on the A968, Unst This shelter has become quite a tourist attraction on the most northerly of the (inhabited) Shetland Islands. In most years it is decorated with a new livery, although that was not so when I (David Purchase) visited in 2016. When Michael Earnshaw (who took the photo) visited in 2010 the theme was The World Cup, though as someone with no interest in football the connections escape me.

A question remains in my mind: what happens if two or more people are waiting for a bus, or the rain is blown in by a northerly wind? Where do they go for shelter?
