Rotten Kaim is a prominent coastal feature located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Situated on the east coast of the country, it is a headland that juts out into the North Sea, forming a distinctive point along the coastline. The name "Rotten Kaim" is derived from the Scots language, with "kaim" meaning a ridge or a headland.

This headland is characterized by its rugged and rocky terrain, which is typical of the Aberdeenshire coastline. It is known for its steep cliffs that rise dramatically from the sea, providing spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The cliffs are composed of various rock types, including granite and sandstone, which have been shaped over time by the relentless crashing of the waves.

In addition to its striking geological features, Rotten Kaim is also home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. The headland provides a habitat for numerous seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, and razorbills, which nest on the cliffs during the breeding season. Grey seals can often be spotted basking on the rocks and occasionally dolphins or porpoises can be seen swimming offshore.

Due to its picturesque location and natural beauty, Rotten Kaim is a popular destination for nature lovers, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts. The headland is easily accessible by foot, with several walking trails leading to its summit. From the top, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the North Sea and the surrounding coastline, making it an ideal spot for capturing breathtaking photographs or simply enjoying the serenity of the rugged Scottish landscape.

Puffin at the Bullers of Buchan Sadly, there seems to be less puffins this year than usual on the cliffs at the Bullers of Buchan. Possibly due to the very extreme weather whilst they were at sea this season.
